Oracle Coherence Monitor

User Guide

Installing OCM
This section describes how to install the RTView Oracle Coherence Monitor. OCM can be installed as a stand-alone monitoring system for Coherence technical support teams to monitor various clusters. OCM can also be installed as a Solution Package within the RTView Enterprise Monitor product.

If you are licensed for RTView Enterprise Monitor and are installing OCM as a Solution Package, please follow the RTView EM - Oracle Coherence Monitor Solution Package installation instructions; if you are installing just OCM, please follow the RTView Oracle Coherence Monitor instructions.

For more information about RTView Enterprise Monitor see the RTView Enterprise Monitor User Guide, available on the SL Product Documentation website.

At This Point You Have:

  RTView Oracle Coherence Monitor
Download the OCMonitor_<version>.zip archive, which bundles the RTView Enterprise Monitor platform, and unzip the OCMonitor_<version>.zip file into a directory of your choosing.

RTView EM - Oracle Coherence Monitor Solution Package
If you are installing OC Monitor as a component to an existing RTView Enterprise Monitor installation, download the smaller rtvapm_ocmon_<version>.zip, which does not bundle the platform. Unzip the rtvapm_ocmon_<version>.zip file on top of your existing RTView Enterprise Monitor installation (for example, rtvapm_std_<version>.zip).

On Windows systems, using the extraction wizard of some compression utilities might result in an extra top-level directory level based on the name of the .zip file. The additional directory is not needed because the .zip files already contain the rtvapm top-level directory. This extra directory should be removed before clicking the Next button that performs the final decompression.

IMPORTANT: UNIX/Linux systems must use unzip –a to properly extract the files from the .zip archives. Navigate to your installation directory, make the file fixperms.sh executable, then execute it in the current shell (first chmod 755 fixperms.sh, and then ./fixperms.sh).

Proceed to Setup.
