Limitations for
64-bit Platforms
- Windows installers require 32-bit java, but otherwise we support both 32-bit and 64-bit JREs.
- The Builder and Viewer only support the
editing and viewing of Flex objects if on Windows platforms and running in
32-bit mode.
- 64-bit clients of the RTView Display Server
are supported if the platform is using a 32-bit browser. When Adobe
officially supports 64-bit flash players, this limitation will no longer
apply.
- The WMI data source is only supported on
32-bit platforms.
Display Builder,
Display Viewer Application, Data Server, Display Server
Requires
Java 1.5.0_01+. If you will be using the Fx
graphs,
Adobe®
Flash Player version 9.0+ is also required.
For the
Display Builder and Display Viewer, Fx graphs are only supported on
Windows.
For the Display
Server:
- 64-bit clients of the Display Server
are supported if the platform is using a 32-bit browser. When Adobe officially
supports 64-bit flash players, this limitation will no longer apply.
- Browsers that support HTML5 (i.e. Firefox, iOS
Safari, and Internet Explorer 9+) will display the html5 trend chart on
displays when the webChartFlag property is selected. Otherwise,
regardless of the value of the webChartFlag, the standard
Trend or
Fx
Trend graph will be displayed.
Display Viewer
Applet
Runs in Swing and requires
Java plug-in 1.5.0_01+. The Fx
graphs
are not
supported in the Display Viewer Applet.
In order to
use the Send Email system command you must modify
the Java security settings on each client to include the following permissions:
permission java.net.SocketPermission
"SMTPHostName", "resolve";
permission java.net.SocketPermission "SMTPHostIP", "accept, connect, listen,
resolve";
permission java.util.PropertyPermission "user.name", "read"; };
Where SMTPHostName is the name of the
SMTP server, SMTPHostIP is the IP address of the SMTP server. NOTE: Email
attachments are not supported in the Display Viewer Applet.
Web Browsers
The following browsers are supported:
Historian
Requires a database with
a JDBC or ODBC driver. See Historian
Database Setup for information on setting
up your database connection.

In
the Display Viewer Applet, attachments to historical data require that
you modify your Java security settings to include the permissions detailed
in the SQL Deployment section.
