Initializing a Command Prompt or Terminal Window

Before running any Enterprise RTView application from a Windows Command Prompt or UNIX terminal window, you must first initialize that window to set RTV_HOME and append RTV_HOME\bin to PATH. Alternatively, see Setup for information on how to set RTV_HOME and append RTV_HOME\bin to PATH globally.

Windows

To open a Command Prompt window that has already been initialized, select the following from the Windows Start Menu:

Start-->Programs-->Enterprise RTView-->Enterprise RTView Command Prompt

 Otherwise, to manually initialize a Command Prompt window, go to your installation directory and type:

rtv_init

UNIX

The script used to initialize a terminal window depends on whether you are in csh or rsh (e.g. Linux, Mac OS X) .

csh bsh
Open a terminal window, go to your installation directory and type:

source rtv_init

Open a terminal window, go to your installation directory and type:

. ./rtv_init.ksh
