Enterprise RTView®
User Guide

Running the Display Builder

On Windows
You can start from either the Windows Start Menu or the Command Prompt window.

From the Windows Start Menu:

Start-->Programs-->Enterprise RTView-->Display Builder

NOTE: When you start the Display Builder from the Windows Start menu, it runs from the demos directory. The Display Builder will try to read initialization (.ini) files and resolve XML sources containing relative paths from that directory. To start the Display Builder in another directory, you must run Enterprise RTView from a command window. NOTE: It is possible to specify a directory for your initialization files.

In an initialized command window:

type run_builder

On UNIX
In an initialized terminal window:

type run_builder

By default, the Display Builder requires a login to support role based security. The default user name and password are:

  •  User Name: admin
  •  Password: admin
If your system administrator has configured a user name and password for you, use these instead. In this case, you may also need to select a role.

In the login dialog, enter your user name and password.

Java options specified in RTV_JAVAOPTS will be used by the run_builder scripts. NOTE: These options will not be used when the Display Builder is started from the Windows Start menu.
